Institute of Robotics

Welcome to the
Institute of Robotics!

The Institute of Robotics (ROBIN) develops mathematical methods to model complex mechanical systems which form the basis of analysis and synthesis and ultimately the model-based control. In doing so, ROBIN applies multibody dynamics and nonlinear control theory methods and, if necessary, develops new methods and algorithms. The result is highly efficient models and model-based control concepts to support complex robotic systems leading directly to addressing real-world issues. Research at ROBIN includes optimal control (time and energy optimal) and force position control of industrial robots and flexible lightweight robots, optimal path planning to support mobile robots, model-based control of novel parallel kinematics, control concepts for special applications, as well as humanoids (running machines).
